A Social Cohesion Project-Inclusion of Syrian Refugee Children to National Education System Sultanbeyli District Ministry of National Education

The project addresses the needs of  Syrian refugee children living in Sultanbeyli district in Turkish National Education system and their social, emotional, behavioural growth as well as their academic achievement. This project is unique in Turkey and possibly in the entire region. Not only does it serve the emotional, social and academic progress of Syrian refugees’ children but also the children’s and parents’ integration into Turkish society. The school-related project’s benefits also reach the Turkish host community, enhancing peaceful co-existence instead of extra tensions in urban neighbourhoods with high ‘refugee density’.
